A poster distributed to local residents advertising the first in a series of workshops sessions for the project. The workshop will be held this Thursday (14/08/08) at the Parsonage Room, Market St., Broughton between 5pm and 7pm and is open to all.
Samantha Allan and Glenn Boulter are embarking on a new community project called The Broughton-in-Furness Sound Tour. The project will explore the area's industrial heritage both past and present. This will be done with the participation of the local community, through a series of artist-led workshops during August and September 2008. The project will be launched as part of the Cumbria-wide annual arts festival FRED with the aim to develop the tour after the festival is finished as a permanent community facility.
Free public access to the Blog
Broughton-in-Furness Tourist Information Centre has kindly donated the use of their internet for the period of the project. If you do not have internet access please pop into to the TIC and ask to view the Broughton Sound Tour Blog and they will be happy to show it to you.
